Gambling harm and vulnerability

Your gambling activity showed clear signs of harm or vulnerability, or a self-exclusion request was ignored, and the operator continued to allow play, deposits or marketing without appropriate intervention.

What this usually looks like

A self-exclusion request is strong evidence, but it is not the only way to establish vulnerability. Repeated or escalating deposits, loss-chasing, distressed contacts with support, repeated attempts to stop, or other clear indicators of harmful play can also be relevant.

Exclusion through a scheme such as GAMSTOP does not automatically bind a Curaçao operator, but it can be relevant evidence of vulnerability. We assess what the operator knew or should reasonably have recognised from the account activity and communications.

We handle these cases with particular care and never require more than you are comfortable sharing upfront.

Common evidence

✓
Account activity and transaction history
Patterns such as escalating deposits, repeated losses, loss-chasing or prolonged play.
✓
Communications with the operator
Messages showing distress, requests for limits, attempts to stop, or disclosures of harm.
✓
Any self-exclusion or cooling-off request
With this operator or elsewhere, including the date and confirmation if available.
✓
External exclusion records
For example GAMSTOP. Relevant context, but not automatically binding on a Curaçao operator.
✓
Any support or treatment records you choose to share
Only if you are comfortable. Never required upfront.

You do not need all of this to start. The intake tells you what is missing.

Possible exclusions

—
Ordinary gambling losses where there is no evidence that the operator knew or should reasonably have recognised vulnerability, and no other operator breach is identified.
—
Operators with no traceable legal entity or Curaçao connection.
—
Claims below USD 5,000 (or equivalent) are not accepted.

Typical pathway

Entity identification
Trace the brand to a legal entity and its licence position.
Documented demand
A formal, evidenced claim to the operator with a response deadline.
Licensing or payment-channel route
Escalation where a regulator or processor has leverage.
Legal escalation, if justified
Referred to independent counsel under separate terms, with costs explained first.

Questions about this claim type

Do I need to have self-excluded?
No. Self-exclusion is strong evidence, but we also assess clear signs of vulnerability and harmful play that the operator knew or should reasonably have recognised.
Does GAMSTOP or another external exclusion automatically apply?
No. It may be relevant evidence of vulnerability, but whether it affects a claim depends on the operator, timing, account activity and communications.
Do I have to share medical or treatment information?
No. It is never required upfront and is only ever used with your explicit consent.
Does checking cost anything?
No. The check and the dossier assessment are free. SBGOK.com is paid only if money is recovered.
