Claim timelines explained: what to expect and when

The current public response commitment is 14 working days. Resolution of an accepted case remains case-specific.
Editorial desk

Two timelines must be kept separate. SBGOK’s current public website says that submitted matters are assessed and answered within 14 working days. This is a communication commitment, not a promise that a case will be accepted or resolved within that period.

If SBGOK offers to take a matter forward, the time needed to pursue it depends on the evidence, the operator’s response, the complaint route and whether independent counsel, ADR or court action is required. Any case-specific milestones or update arrangements should be stated in the engagement terms or later case communications.

Claimants should rely on their case reference and written communications for the applicable next step rather than treating a general article as a deadline for recovery.

Why this matters

Separating the response commitment from the case-resolution timeline prevents a service target from being mistaken for a recovery guarantee.
