What happens after you submit a claim

What the free assessment covers, the current 14-working-day response commitment, and when separate engagement terms become necessary.
Editorial desk

After a submission is received, SBGOK assesses the information provided and decides whether it can take the matter forward or needs additional evidence. The current public commitment on sbgok.com is a response within 14 working days.

The assessment is not a guarantee that the matter will be accepted or resolved. If SBGOK offers to pursue it, the proposed recovery route, any contingency arrangement and the treatment of external costs must be set out in written engagement terms before recovery work begins.

Resolution timing depends on the evidence, the operator’s response and the route required. Claimants should use their case reference and written communications for the current status and next step.

Why this matters

The assessment stage and an accepted recovery engagement have different obligations and should not be presented as one automatic process.
